Please make sure to use a mobile phone that has not been blocked for general use. Insert your Africa Mobile 09 SIM into the phone, switch it on and enter your PIN (see the SIM card holder). . Your phone is unlocked if it displays "Africa Mobile 09". . Your phone is locked if it displays "insert SIM" or "SIM not valid". To unlock your phone please contact your nearest mobile phone unlocking centre. What if my phone becomes blocked? If you enter the PIN incorrectly 3 times, your phone will be temporarily blocked. If this happens: Switch your phone off and back on again. Enter the 8 digit PUK number (found on the quick reference card). Enter the 4 digit PIN. Your phone will be activated Activating your Africa Mobile 09 SIM Replace your usual SIM with your Africa Mobile 09 SIM, switch it on and enter your PIN (see top of the SIM card holder). Top-Up Start T READY
Your new Africa Mobile 09 Travel Number Your new Africa Mobile 09 travel number is printed on the top of the SIM card holder and starts with " +354 ". TIP : Don't forget to text your complete new number, including the international dialing code " + 354 " to friends, colleague etc.. Update your voicemail message to include your new travel number before your travelling. !
Service Life If you do not use the 09 Service within any 9 months period the SIM and any remaining credit will be closed. If you top-up your Africa Mobile 09 SIM within the 9 months period even if you do not use it, the SIM will not expire for a further 9 months. Copying your contact numbers Check if your contact numbers are saved on your phone by inserting your Africa Mobile 09 SIM and entering your PIN number. If you can see your contacts, your phone is ready for use. If your contact numbers are not available, then place your usual SIM back into the phone and copy your contacts from that SIM onto the phone. TIP : Update your numbers to include your country code (00xx). OW TO MAKE A CALL
Making a call . Dial the number you wish to call, including the relevant international dialing code as per normal. Ignore any "Message sent" or "Call not allowed" messages. . Your phone may display " Please wait " for a few seconds. The phone will then disconnect. We will connect your call and you will receive a call back within 30 seconds. . Answer this call and you will be connected as usual.
Language Selectiononenumer 1 Menu Based Calling Your SIM has been designed to work with as many different phones as possible. However, due to software variations, some phones may require a specially developed dialing process to access our service. If you encounter a "Call Barred", "restricted number" or "check operator services" message when trying to make a call then you will need to select the item " 09 Services " > " Make a call " > " callnumber " in your phone menu. Checking your Credit Balance Wherever you are, you can check how much credit you have left on your phone any time by simply dialing "092" Adding Credit There are 4 easy ways to top-up your Africa Mobile 09 SIM account: Adding credit with top-up voucher dial 091
Using Top-Up Voucher If you have a valid voucher, scratch off the security coating, dial " 091 " and follow the verbal instructions from our system Adding credit via call center dial - 090with your mobile phone:
Top-Up via Call Center Contact our customer service by dialing " 090 " on your phone (this is a free call) or " +354 585 0909 " from any other phone. Please have your credit card ready when calling the customer service to top-up.
Direct Top-Up Either dial " 091 " on your phone or use the menu on your phone, select " top-up registered user " from the menu (pre registration is required for this function) and your card will be topped-up immediately.

Troubleshooting . I can't make any calls! If you encounter a "Call barred", "restricted number" or "check operator services" message when trying to make a call then please refer to the "Menu Based Calling" section (see p. 02).
. My Africa Mobile 09 SIM soes not work with my phone! If you experience ont of the following erros: "SIM not valid", "Enter subsidy code", "Phone restricted", "SIM not accepted" or " SIM locked" then your phone is probably locked . To unlock your phone please contact one of your nearest mobile phone unlocking centre.
I'm having problems making calls! If you are experiencing problems when making a call this may be due to local network conditions. In these situations we recommend that you select an alternative local network. In most countries there will be at least one other network available.
People are having problems calling me! If people are experiencing problems calling you this may be due to them using discount landlines or office networks that can not yet connect calls to "090"-numbers. We recommend using an alternative international calling provider.
I've blocked my phone! If you enter an incorrect PIN more than 3 times you will block your phone. To unblock it restart you phone and enter the PUK1 code when prompted. Then enter your PIN Africa Mobile 09 06

Can I use MMS, GPRS or 3G? MMs, GPRS and 3G services are not currently supported.
Travelling to the Americas? When travelling to the USA, Canada, parts of the Caribbean and South Amberica you will need to use either a "tri" or "quad"-band phone. See your phone instructions if you are unsure.
How do I dial the emergency services? Just dial the appropriate emergency service number for the country your are in and press the "Send" button.
